• Promoting Curiosity and A Love for Learning

  • We believe a curriculum should create joy and a life-long love for learning. To a young child, things adults might consider routine are moments of satisfying discovery, a first time experience or a proud rite of passage and accomplishment!

  • Our program provides a secure, caring and happy learning environment where young children are encouraged to explore the world around them. To a preschool student, every day is new, unique and full of first time experiences. Young children learn and understand their world through play, hands-on interaction, investigation and self-discovery. We encourage our students to try their ideas and express their thoughts. Our goal is to help children become independent, self-confident, inquisitive learners. We are teaching them how to learn, not just during preschool, but throughout their lives. To a young child, daily experiences adults might consider routine are actually moments of satisfying discovery, a first time experience or a proud rite of passage accomplishment!

Our curriculum is based on 38 objectives for development and learning, which are fully aligned with the Head Start Child Development and Early Learning Framework as well as Texas Prekindergarten Guidelines. Our objectives cover 10 learning areas:

    • Math - counting, adding, subtracting, sorting, grouping, creating patterns
    • Science and Technology- gardens, measuring, weighing, experimenting and making predictions, animal life cycles, asking why, computers and more.

  • Academic Curriculum

The preschool years are the optimum period to acquire a second language through immersion. Our curriculum uses best practices from two award winning, research verified national and international curricula, Curriculo Creativo (USA) and Santillana (Worldwide). Bilingual Whiz Kidz leverages the “language learning window,” allowing our young students to naturally absorb Spanish as they participate in curriculum activities and important social relationships and friendships within our school. Our curriculum is Experienced and Studies based, with hands on activities, exploration and discovery that create joyful learning and life-long learning passion.

We have part and full time programs available.
  • Unique Curriculum Components:

  • Learning Centers:

Each class has access to age appropriate learning centers for language, math, practical life, sensorial, and science/geography. Learning centers are student initiated, teacher guided.

    Language Program:

We incorporate Lindamood Phoneme Sequencing, LIPS® Series, into our language program for toddlers through age two. LIPS® is a multisensory phonics program that attaches oral-motor movements to sounds.

    English Program:

Starting at age 3, our students receive two English lessons per week. We use a combination of Letterland® and Handwriting Without Tears® to teach age 3 and up English phonics. Letterland is a unique, phonics-based approach to teaching sounds, reading, and writing. The Letterland characters transform plain black letter shapes into child-friendly pictograms where they live in an imaginary place called Letterland.

    Cultural Awareness:

We explore Chinese, Spanish, and Latin American music, dance, food, geography, and traditions. Our students celebrate other cultures, learn cultural mindfulness and embrace our diverse world! Preschoolers participate in Latin-themed shows, so Bring Your Cameras!

    Reading Program:

As children turn four, they are exposed to a formal reading program as the child shows interest. Teachers gives one on one instruction to introduce, review and analyze a book. Children get to take their book home to share with their family; to a child, this is a proud moment of life passage!

  • Organic Snacks:

We believe healthy growth is tied healthy nutrition. We are inclined to serve wholesome and organic snacks to children, twice daily, morning and afternoon according to USDA nutritional guidelines found in the My Plate program. Lunch is brought from home.

    Enrichment Activities:

We offer a range of enrichment activities for our children in order to provide a rounded learning experience. Our diverse activities include yoga, music, gymnastics, STEM, gardening, unique visitors, and cooking. These activities may vary during the school year and are offered at no additional cost.

    Soccer and Free Play:

We encourage outdoor fun and learning, weather permitting. During the academic day, our kids enjoy two daily play periods consisting of free play and the other soccer, where students are taught soccer skills and game rules. Our young soccer players develop their motor skills and as teammates, learn sportsmanship and small group cooperation.

    Kindness Curriculum:

Our Kindness Curriculum introduces our children to pro-social behaviors and loving values. At BWK, we have adopted Conscious Discipline as our blueprint to convert classroom conflicts and their resolutions into pro-social learning opportunities. Our program cultivates the social-emotional intelligence and maturity required of empathic global citizenry. We have also incorporated a science-based program, STREAM: Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Art and Math, taught in Spanish using immersion and studies based learning. Each classroom has a computer station, where technology is introduced. We introduced computer language programming concepts using award winning Be-Bot® robots, which teach control, directional computer language and programming concepts to young children. We incorporate a studies based approach into our STREAM program.
